8 New After-School Time Period Resources

After-School Time Period: Safe, Active, Fun, Engaged

SPRA is excited to share some new resources that we hope will assist service providers in the planning, development and delivery of After-School Time Period (ASTP) programs.

These 8 New ASTP resources are available in our Resource Centre library:

1. ASTP Physical Activity and Games
A selection of fun physical activities and games that can be used in ASTP programs.

2. ASTP Behavior Management
An outline of some fundamental principles and practices for managing behavior during a program.

3. ASTP Getting Started
Considerations to help you get started, such as legal obligations, operation procedures, risk assessment and liability factors.

4. ASTP Staff Requirements
Examples of procedures and processes to assist in the management of staff.

5. ASTP Volunteer Development
Framework to support the recruitment, training and development of quality volunteers in ASTP.

6. ASTP Programming Tools
Example registers, session plans, awards, incident and emergency report forms to assist in the organisational areas of programming.

7. ASTP Program Evaluation Tools
Questionnaires and surveys for parents, staff and children to engage them in the process of development or evaluation of your program

8. ASTP Program Information
Policy and program requirements that could be distributed to participants and parents to support effective program implementation.
