Parks For All Action Grant

The Parks for All Action Grant is a commitment to the national Parks for All Action Plan and aims to support efforts that achieve the Parks for All Vision. Efforts can be local, regional or provincial in scope. Applications should highlight how people will be engaged, and the long term benefits that are expected.

The Vision is: Connected Canadian park lands and waters that support healthy nature and healthy people in harmony for generations to come, backed by an active, diverse parks community that cultivates shared goals, mutual respect and collective action.

Leadership Development Grant

The quality of leadership is vital to a positive recreation experience for participants. The Leadership Development Grant aims to assist Active members of SPRA in developing recreation opportunities within Saskatchewan, and the community, by increasing the skill level of volunteers and recreational staff.

The Leadership Development Grant will fund a one-time only, skill development opportunity. Part of the application process is to outline how to enhance recreational opportunities within the community.

Framework in Action Grant

The Framework in Action Grant aims to support SPRA member initiatives that advance the goals and priorities identified within The Framework for Recreation in Canada 2015 – Pathways to Wellbeing. Initiatives will show alignment with one (1) of the goals of the Framework and can be local, regional or provincial in scope.

Take the Lead! Training Assistance Program Grant

Applicants can apply for up to $500 in support of a new or existing Take the Lead! program. Eligible expenses include activity equipment, training, youth leader celebrations and more!


First Nation Recreation Development Grant

The First Nation Recreation Development Grant Program aims to support SPRA members to develop new recreation opportunities or initiatives in their community for First Nations people while also encouraging engagement and support of local First Nations in the development of the recreational opportunities.

Forever...in motion Grant

The Forever…in motion Grant aims to support SPRA members in implementing a Forever…in motion program. Forever…in motion is a Saskatchewan based program that helps older adults become physically active through volunteer, peer or staff led physical activity groups. The program improves and/or maintains the health of older adults living in the community through physical activity and education.

Community Cultural Diversity Inclusion Grant

The Community Cultural Diversity Inclusion Grant aims to support SPRA members in developing recreation programs with a focus of integrating newcomers to Canada, First Nations, Métis and ethno-cultural minorities. Opportunities should reflect the diverse population within the member’s community or groups served.

The SPRA Community Cultural Diversity Inclusion Grant is available to fund a one-time only recreation program. The successful applicant will have outlined how their program will promote the continued development of recreation in their community.

Métis Recreation Development Grant

The Métis Recreation Development Grant aims to support SPRA members to develop new recreation opportunities or initiatives in their community for Métis people and encourage engagement.

SPRA’s Métis Recreation Grant is available to fund a one-time only recreation program. The successful applicant will have outlined how their program will promote the continued development of recreation in their community.

Community Rink Affordability Grant

Skating and curling rinks are integral to the creation of vibrant, active, and connected communities in Saskatchewan. These facilities play a critical role in health and wellness, at a time when that has never been more important. Recognizing the escalating operating costs communities and organizations face, SPRA has partnered with the Government of Saskatchewan to offer the Community Rink Affordability Grant.
