ParticipACTION Teen Challenge sponsored by Coca-Cola Canada
SPRA is proud to be the Provincial Coordinator of the ParticipACTION Teen Challenge in Saskatchewan. SPRA is committed to ensuring that youth throughout the Province are provided with opportunities to lead more active and healthy lives.
With Teen Physical Activity Grants of up to $500 for ongoing events and $250 for one-time events, registered community organizations across Saskatchewan are able to fund their own physical activity programs specifically for teens.
This innovative program is aimed at getting Canadian teenagers moving by providing funding to local organizations for things such as equipment, coaching or access to facilities in order to enable teens to get active.
Our goal is to enable teens to get active and to have fun in ways that mean something to them. By removing barriers and providing access to the facilities, equipment, instruction or other support they need to get active, we are facilitating stronger connections to the community and fostering social interactions that help build confidence and self-esteem.
1. Register your Community Organization. Any organization that provides teens with the grounds, facilities, equipment, expertise or other support they need to get active. You can register your organization
2. Design a program or event that gets teens active. Consult with teens and decide what they may want to do. Determine what resources to you need to make the idea come to life.
3. Apply for a Teen Physical Activity Grant through the ParticipACTION Teen Challenge website. Make sure your grant application tells us how you want to get teens moving, and what you want the dollars to go towards.
Physical activity should be a vital and fulfilling part of everyday life—unfortunately, only seven per cent of Canadian children and youth are active enough to meet guidelines of 60 minutes of activity per day. The ParticipACTION Teen Challenge sponsored by Coca-Cola Canada is a nationwide program that inspires and supports Canadian teens aged 13-19 to get moving more.
