Our Parks and Open Spaces Consultant provides our members with advocacy, training, and resources to ensure the sustainable management of parks and open spaces throughout Saskatchewan.

Programs and Services

We offer these Parks and Open Spaces programs and services:  

  • Communities in Bloom - A national community development program, administered in Saskatchewan by SPRA 

  • June is Recreation & Parks Month - A community-driven celebration of recreation and parks across Saskatchewan

  • Specialized training opportunities 

  • Ongoing consultation and support for SPRA members

Capacity Building and Professional Development

We can help build capacity for your parks department and develop your skills as a parks professional with these training opportunities: 

  • The Saskatchewan Parks Worker Course

  • Tree Identification for Saskatchewan 

  • Tree Planting, Site Selection, and Basic Maintenance 

  • Urban Forest Pests and Diseases

  • A Basic Overview of Landscape Design for Municipalities
