Job Overview:
Rivers West District for Sport, Culture & Recreation Inc. is seeking a passionate and dedicated Community Development Coordinator to design and coordinate community and capacity-building initiatives within the Rivers West District. This role will focus on fostering communication and collaboration among various stakeholders to promote sport, culture, and recreation. Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement community and capacity-building initiatives that support the development of sport, culture, and recreation.
- Maintain effective communications with all stakeholders, including local communities, and organizations
- Build and maintain strong networks to promote and advance sport, culture, and recreation opportunities within the district.
- Foster collaboration and shared learning among other districts and stakeholders.
- Conduct community visitations within the Rivers West District to assess needs and gather input on initiatives.
- Ensure all projects and interactions are conducted in a professional and respectful manner.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in a relevant field (asset, but not required).
- Is legally entitled to work in Canada (as either a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident, or is a protected person as defined by the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act).
- Experience working in any of the following fields: recreation, sport or culture, community development, tourism, environmental sciences, kinesiology, history, geography, biology or program development.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Highly organized with strong time management and prioritization skills.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel within the district as needed.
Wage, Term Length & Hours
- $25/hour
- Full time/permanent
- 35 hours/week
