Join our dynamic aquatics team with the City of Melfort!

The City of Melfort is committed to providing exceptional recreational services and facilities to our community. We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Lifeguard & Instructor to join our team. This position will be responsible for monitoring public activities in and around swimming pools, ensuring adherence to rules, procedures and safety regulations. Candidates will also instruct Lifesaving Instructor and/or Swim for Life swimming lessons as well. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about aquatic programs and community engagement.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Maintain safety and supervision of patrons using the NLP Pool facility as outlined in the facility policies and procedures
  • Enforce pool policies while providing a high level of customer service
  • Develop lesson plans and programs. Deliver quality swim instruction to patrons based on the Swim For Life and LSI program of the Lifesaving Society of Canada
  • Attend regular Inservice and training sessions

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Current National Lifeguard Certification
  • Current Lifesaving Instructor
  • Current Standard First Aid with CPR C/AED
  • Provide a clear Criminal record check with vulnerable sector

Abilities & Skills:

  • Actively guard and scan the pool area while standing or walking for various lengths of time
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to aquatic facilities

Wage: $18.48 - $19.25/hour
