Position: Recreation Director

The Town of Eston is seeking a full time Recreation Director. This position is responsible for varies duties; recreational programs, introduce new programs, events for our community and sponsorship, budget, managing and overseeing. This is an exciting opportunity for an innovative leader who is committed to fostering a vibrant and active community.

This Recreation Department is funded through a partnership agreement between the Town of Eston and the RM of Snipe Lake. No. 259.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, develop, and implement recreational programs and events that meet the needs of all age groups in the community.
  • Supervise and provide leadership to staff and volunteers, ensuring exceptional service delivery.
  • Collaborate with community organizations, schools, and stakeholders to support recreational initiatives.
  • Provide exceptional service to recreation inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Work closely with Recreation Committee and Facility Director.
  • Develop and manage budgets, secure grants, and explore funding opportunities to enhance recreational offerings.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, health, and municipal regulations and policies in all programs and facilities.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • A positive, eager-to-learn attitude is essential; skills can be developed on the job.
  • Experience in recreation programming or a related field is beneficial but not mandatory.
  • Familiarity with budget management and grant writing is an asset but not required.
